Since Alex's Million Dollar Homepage is about to hit the ultimate goal of a million pixels sold, it is time for a new site to fill the void and continue on the tradition of selling pixels. So, MEGAPIXELSFORSALE.com was born. Like our friend over at Million Dollar Homepage, MEGAPIXELSFORSALE.com continues where Alex left off, but there are a few differences. First, each pixel is $.50 cents versus the original $1.00 and as an added bonus, every pixel purchased here will be automatically transfered to the World's Largest Billboard when it launches in early 2006 for FREE! Pixels are available in blocks of 10x10 pixels. Each 10x10 pixel block costs $50. All you have to do is click the Paypal link below and buy as many pixels blocks that are available. Attach a GIF or JPEG (must be the exact size of pixels purchased), URL and ALT TEXT and you're done. Oh, and be sure to read the Terms and Conditions below, they are exactly like the original idea, except for the price.

Terms and Conditions

• Mminimum purchase are blocks of 10x10 pixels or $50 (100 pixels), the only limit is the available space.
• When you buy the pixels on the homepage, you do not actually own any part of the website or technology. Instead, you are leasing the space you purchased.
• Once submitted, the artwork and/or links cannot be changed. Please double check your submission before sending.
• Once your artwork and link are accepted and published on the homepage,no refunds will be issued.
• The site and homepage will be online for at least 5 years (starting from the day it launched), so at least until Tuesday 6th January 2014 , but possibly even longer
• No obscene/offensive/adult images/links will be accepted, if rejected, you will be issued a full refund and will lose your pixel placement.
• If your link is accepted and you later change the content of the linked site to show offensive/obscene/adult material then your link will be removed until you provide a new one, and you will not get a refund of any kind for the link downtime
• If for whatever reason in the future you want your image and link removed from the homepage, you can do that, but you will not get a refund and the space will become publically available again
• Images must be the exact size you have paid for (eg. 100 pixels = 10x10 pixels)
• Images must be in GIF or JPEG format, and a reasonable file size
• Images must NOT be animated
• Links must be to web pages only and begin with http://
• You must have the authority to provide the image and link for the website you submit
• Funds must be fully received and cleared before your pixels go live on the homepage
• There might be occasional downtime for site maintenence but I'll try and keep these to a minimum
• Once you have ordered and the funds have cleared (eg. in my PayPal or bank account), I will aim to get your pixels online within 24-48hrs (but please have patience if things kick off and loads of people order at the same time)

PAYPAL

PayPal is payment method for purchasing mega pixels. Because the pixels are sold in $50 blocks, please ensure you order the correct quantity of blocks when ordering. Once you have paid for your pixels, please e-mail pixels@megapixelsforsale.com with the following:

1) Attach your image as a GIF or JPEG (must be correct size for the pixels purchased)

2) Then tell me where you want your graphic to be placed on the homepage (example, "100 blocks across, 500 blocks down"). You can get the cordinates from mousing over the grid and getting the X,Y values. Make sure you are sure about your placement, because if can't be changed later.

3) State which website you would like your graphic linking to (must begin with 'http://')

4) State what TITLE/ALT text you want for your image, max. 50 characters. TITLE/ALT text appears when people hover their cursor over your image.

Current estimated time from ordering your pixels to going live on homepage: 24 hours (please allow up to 48hrs).

It's still worth getting in the queue as early as you can, in order to reserve your spot on the homepage. Please note if two or more people in the queue ask for the same position on the homepage, the person who ordered earliest will have priority.
